MY MOM called "Estrella Jail" my resort. I was there for three meals a day and back then we had blues to wear. After the first week of (let's call it a quick lesson of jail etiquette) But where I came from and what I did out of loyalty ( for my man and my kids) came natural.I would rather be respected for sticking it out( and staying outta kitchen duty by saying I had hep B) . I actually missed the guards, getting in a fight when some new gal became my roomie at 6 weeks and tried to tell me how my house( a hard bunk, and toilet and sink combo( wow)was gonna be abt sleep hours. I beat her ass and the DO tried to pepper spray her and got himself. When she carved PUNK in my soap- I had it planned with a DO- act like I can't get along and put me in the day area over crowed bunk space and I will teach him aiming skills after I get some cigs from the slot in the door. Half the guys out there knew me and I got chew(BLAH), love notes, good rollies etc... they just needed to have my badge back by 4am cuz it was court day. COURTDAY was amazing- milkyway or 3 musketeers with hot bath water. WAs like hot cocoa, learned to pop a socket with pencil leads and grow a grapefruit seed on a maxipad. I loved hearing who was married - who is divorced and who just wanted to be with a woman cuz she didn't get to bring her loyal dog! Joe just started with the pink socks. And he would encourage us to watch Grand Ol OPrey- tracy lawrance nite- we drank the hooch we had been burping for the past few weeks- not good. I was the look out, and the people I did my time and Showed loyalty to- got the word in that I get my dots...im a white naitive polish girl that her mom hated her anyways. I had a family, still could ask them for anything.... I asked for getting out of that part, but if they would trust me years later if I had a problem. They said of course. That was the best family lesson( and morrals ) that I can't see of my family that talks shit abt me.....I'm not sure abt loyalty to my blood that stills talks crap abt me..... maybe a bus needs to roll over them!
