How to use the Inmate Search for Clark County Detention Center in Kentucky
Many jails throughout the country have made their inmate lists available to the public. These inmate searches make it possible to locate an inmate or learn than inmate has been released or transferred to another jail. If you'd like to locate an inmate from Kentucky's Clark County Detention center, the following steps should be able to help you.
To begin your inmate search, visit the Kentucky Online Offender Lookup
. There, you can look up inmates from prison, people serving their community service hours, assessment centers, transitional programs, halfway houses, private prisons, county jails and Kentucky's Department of Correction prison.
Once you're at the homepage for the offender lookup, hit "advanced search" for more options. If you know the full name of the inmate or their I.D number, you can easily find them by entering that information in the boxes. You can also narrow down your search by gender, age, race, the type of institution where they're located, the name of that institution or conviction information. An inmate's conviction information would include their indictment, date of the crime, date of when they were convicted and the date an inmate began their sentence.
If you don't have much information to go on, you may still access Clark County Jail's entire inmate list. While you're still on the advanced search page, scroll down to "institution" and locate "Clark County Jail" from the list. That's all the information you need. Once you've selected the jail, scroll down and hit "search data." If you'd like, you can choose how the searches are sorted by using the "record sort order" drop-down menu. For example, if you'd like to see an alphabetized list, than you'd want to select "Last name, first name" from the record order drop-down menu.
Before you look through the inmate list, you may want to go over the list of definitions provided to you. This will help clear up any confusion you may have about certain terms or abbreviations. To access this, hit "definitions" on top of the page and you'll be brought to a series of terms.
These are the definitions provided by Kentucky's Department of Corrections.
- Class D or CD are inmates located at country jails and detention centers
- Community service refers to people serving their court-ordered community service hours
- Controlled Intake or CI are inmates who are considered controlled and reside at controlled intake locations
- Miscellaneous refers to people who are serving time in another manner somewhere in the state.
- Out-of-State refers to certain inmates who are serving time outside the state of Kentucky
After you've gone over the definitions, scroll through the current inmate list for Clark County. Click on the inmates name for their inmate I.D, their facility (clark county jail), age, race, gender, eye color, hair color, height, weight and their start date at clark county. The inmate's alias name, if they have one, is listed. As well, you may view the conviction information for that inmate and parole information. Some inmate pages will have a mug shots.
