My brother has staph infection and they haven't taken him to see a doctor yet. It keeps getting worse and bigger. They made him fill out a form to request to see a nurse that could take a week. My brother is insanely sick... He is only in for a DUI and this is how he gets treated.

My brother is in there with staph as well. I call the medical and told them about it. It had busted and was bleeding guess what they did, they took him from his cell and put him in the holding tank till the next day. He was charged with dwi (2) but they pulled 2 more from 1992 and 1998 so they charged him with 4. I'm told the place is dirty, dirty and very over crowded. I'm told a lot of the ones in there have staph infections, boils and sores. If anyone knows what can be done please let me know. In the passed I know that they hold people in holding cells as long as they want before they will book them. He has been put in the squairl cage and was tolded if he was to squat down he would be shocked.

Dorothy They are still there because that is the way it is done there. They get paid per person per day. Keep them longer to get more money.

My son was arrested in the mall parking lot. He was out drinking, he got dropped off at his car in the mall. He knew he shouldn't drive home, so he called us to come get him. He was in a reclined position in his car waiting for us to come get him. In the meantime the police got there pulled him out the car and took him to jail, towed his car. He was charged with DWI and resisting arrest. It cost me 600.00 cash to bail him out and 250.00 for the tow yard. Last week out of the blue my son got a stating the charges are recalled and his lic was reinstated. It was done. Well I am not done I am out 850.00. If the charges are dropped with out going to court domi get my money back. Also as part of his bond before pleading not guilty he had to have a interlock installed in his car. That was 180.00 to install plus 2 months of payments of 75.00 per month. Again do I get that back.

Everyone Go to the FBI, file complaint, get lawyer and go to state/federal judges, file with state/federal attorney generals. Talk to friends, neighbor, relatives about Sheriff, DA, Judges in St.Tammany psh. about reelecting people with compassion and seek justice.

I have been in the twice and everything that is being posted is valid and legit. Yes they keep you in the holding cell for 2 to 3 weeks. They are so focused on petty issues that they don't give two shits about human rights common decency and respect. Those are the laws of God, not man. And if Jack(ass) Strain is this man of faith like he claims he should know this. They don't see "criminals" as humans with problems. They see them as threats to society. The last time I checked a drug addict is NOT A THREAT TO SOCIETY being that they are REHABILITATED. Yes some people are just bad people while others are good people who suffer from addiction. Being an addict myself I have been in Recovery for a year now without a drop of alcohol or a single drug in my body. I NO LONGER DO CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES. That way of life is NON EXISTANT. My probation officer asks me to help with her clients. She has seen the change and I sponsor women she has difficulty with. Back to St. Slamanny...there has to be something done with their "judicial system" it is not fair for their residents to live in fear of the police, criminal or not. The police and the DA are supposed to be people to help us, not condemn us because we are not one of "them" or someone with money or family and friends. The conditions in jail are so poor and unjust. Women get treated the worst. I pray for the families and inmates that they will see the light of the deep dark tunnel St. Tammany has put them in. God Bless y'all.
