  19. Charlene Thu, Mar 28 2013 11:11 PM

I dont know what the hell is going on there but no one will tell you anything! if you are EVER fortunate enough to talk to anyone they wont tell you anything! I am told through relieble sources that this place is all about money and dont bgive a damn about the inmates OR their families! am told there are 3 toilets to 75 people! only 2 hours for all those to shower! no place to put everyone seperate in the event of a huge fight, etc. if they get commisary the prices are outrageous. if moved from somewhere else they cannot take items they have bought such as tv,etc. must send this stuff home! their visits are only 2 or 3 hours even for family that must drive 10, 15 hours to see them! cant have any pictures of their loved ones. the list goes on and on. we must all band together and find out why this is going on. these people are treating our loved ones like animals! they are also treating us as prisoners by taking visitations that have already been earned by the inmates. I was told by Santa Fe that they would still get their trailer visits yet I was told by Otero that they ndont have trailers for visits! what the HELL! someone needs to get their stories straight! the families have a right to answers. I have been told by Otero "oh we wont know until they get here"!!!! It is my OPINION that this is ALL ABOUT MONEY for Otero and to hell with the inmates and their families! come on people! lets here from you if you have someone there or going there. lots of questions need to be answered and if they have nothing to hide why wont they answer these questions???!!!! is Otero equiped to house level 3 prisoners? dont think so. send comments please.

  23. Barbara French Tue, Apr 16 2013 3:28 PM

My son was also transferred there last Thursday from Hobbs. I just talked to him today and he couldn't tell me anything about how to send money or visits . Or anything really. I'm going to try to call the wardens secretary and see what I can find out.

  24. Denise Thu, Apr 18 2013 12:51 AM

My Husband was in there a month ago and already got transferred. Visiting hours are Sat & Sun from 8-2. When you get there they have the machine where you may deposit money or you can send $50 money orders. but only by 50's.

  25. Dorothy Sun, Apr 21 2013 10:32 PM

Can someone tell me if this facility is a state or federal facility? After reading all the comments, I wondering. I was told that this is a new facility and they are still trying to figure out how to run the place. The phone calls that take place are charging alot. Securis is alot cheaper!

  26. lisa Sun, May 12 2013 12:38 AM

Just fifteen minutes ago I heard from my dad. He got transferred out of Santa Fe this morning and just arrived. He could only tell me the address and nothing more. I'm going to have to wait for more info. and from what I've been reading, I'm nervous and worried like hell. Dad's old and infirm and this general population/congested situation is scaring me. Do they really have such minimal bathrooms/showers? Is this just a stopping point to another place for everyone? Can someone tell me anything? Thank you.

  27. brenda Tue, May 21 2013 2:24 PM

This place is shitty as hell. i did some time there on charges imposed by the military..yes thats right i was in prisoned here while in the military. I was in Shu 2 Cell 43. the guards treat you like s***. i had athletes foot while i was in there and in great pain due to it, asked for medical attention...their response "you need to fill out a sick call sheet" wtf right? didnt get to see medical for a whole 2 weeks. if your sleep or not alert when they come around for your "1 hr." rec..they wont ask they will just mark off as no response..BS right? but it gets better i got a "room search" because i have a tattoo of the Seahawks logo..a bunch of gaurds came in my room tore it all up..all because they though i was in a mexican gang called pisas or some shit like that. Im black why would i join a fucking mexican gang? they hire dum idiots there and i hope the warden sees this...

  29. Lupita Fri, Jun 14 2013 2:16 AM

I have been trying to find out also what phone services they use so I can open an account. My husband has been trying to call. When I call to verify if hes there.. They cant find no record, when I know that he's there. They are rude when one calls to get info.
