Schuylkill County Prison is violating so many laws, they have inmates 3 to a cell, the 3rd person sleeps on the floor with no cot, just a strait pad on the floor, they do not feed the correct daily nutrition to the inmates. I can go on and on

I've heard the same thing. It's terrible.

It's true. My husband said its the worst prison. He was a third person to a cell and he sleeps on the floor :( Poor example of a so called "prison"

Don't Break the Law and you will not have to worry. I am glad its overcrowded it is not supposed to be leisurely getaway. Maybe it will make criminals learn their lessons

how can anyone say dont break the law etc. Most guys there are for addiction problems. There is NO HELP whatsoever. My son said he is starving. I wish someone would contact someone for help, but no one cares AT ALL. No church, no bibles, no food,no recreation of any kind.

Anon...Though I appreciate and Respect and frankly agree, that if you deserve to be in prison, things should not be easy on you...They should be uncomfortable and rough...However, many have NOT been convicted of a crime and are still waiting trial...Perhaps they are innocent and certainly have the right to due process before having to suffer the actions of something they may NOT have done...That is what a jury is for....While prisoners are awaiting trial, perhaps they should be separated from population and have better conditions until such time as they are found GUILTY of a crime...jus sayin....Peace to You n Yours Always

Criminals barely get jail time for what they do in Schuylkill County, and that's when the Court system finally gives them jail time for what they do over and over. Victims get screwed again as plea bargains drop important charges. The state and county gets their due. My car and a neighbor's were totaled by a repeat offender that blew a .259, an hour after I moved to Pottsville. it then took the Court 362 of the allowable 365 days to sentence him, and the Judge let him be home for Xmas and New Years. Some get work release, which is good so the victim's can get a miniscule amount of restitution. I'm disabled and not having a car added to physical problems and pain, and kept me from being able to get to work. Meanwhile, John had a wonderful year of partying as evidenced by his Facebook page. Who says crime doesn't pay? You get what you deserve in life. I'm sure they had to detox him. Yes, conditions are harsh. There are no jobs or honest people are kept from working so there are less tax dollars to give prisoners more. Some are so dumb. They guy that died in the jail last year was my neighbor's nephew. He took an incredible amount of drugs the day before reporting, like he thought the high would last through his sentence. That was dumb. He left two little girls with a very young, drug addicted, incapable mother. The Courts gave custody of one to a relative. Not sure about the other. The public is also guilty of not reporting crimes and cooperating with the Police, not that all of the officers are the greatest, and the Court system is the pitts. Christine Hollman is a good attorney and I hope she is able to make changes. Drugs moved in and crime shot way up last year. Pottsville is a pretty place, but it's going to hell. It's a vicious cycle.

I agree pottsville is going to hell. Thats why next year im leaving. Ive had enough of the crooked cops and the drugs and crime in this town. I want my kids to grow up in a better place.I am no angel i spent 6 1/2 months at BCP in 2006 I learned my lesson have noy been in trouble and will not get in trouble, I wish everyone who goes to prison learns there is a joke if u want to find GOD go to jail, well for me thats what happen I feel sorry for those who are at SCP especially if the conditions r that bad. I pray that they find GOD. He is the only one who can get them out and keep them out
