About half your "Video from Inside" links result in "This video has been removed by user" pages. The remainder of the links labeled "Video from Inside" are EXTREMELY misleading, if not downright lies. They either show nothing at all of life inside jail, or they show "specials" (i.e., when someone from outside comes in to film a special for television, etc.) In such cases, the jail authorities spruce things up, hand out cups, put spoons and extra pitchers of koolade of the mess hall tables, and generally make everything look much better than it really it on a day-to-day basis. They most certainly do NOT show much of anything of the real daily life inside Texas jails. The glowing description of Texas jails that are on the various Texas jail and Texas criminal justice pages are, to put it as kindly as I can, "wishful thinking." I have a relative who has been inside two different Texas jails. In both jails, they had to buy their own cups and spoons. Only one pitcher of koolade was put on each table, sometimes not even that. If they did not have their own spoon, they had to eat with their ID cards. If they did not have their own cups, they had to drink from the pitcher or from another inmate's cup. Medical care was a JOKE. The inmate would be first accused of malingering and denied medical access. That would be repeated several times. The inmate would either get well by himself or become so ill that a relative or friend had to intervene via the warden or someone else to ensure that the inmate got some kind of care. It's SHAMEFUL!
