What times can a friend call an inmate? I just recieved a letter from an inmate in McLennan County Jail off Hwy 6. Please provide this information as quickly as possible as I am off work this Thursday (9/15/2011) night and Friday (9/16/2011) all day. Thank you for your time and help! This is someone I care very much about, and Id like to encourage him to make this time in jail a time to better himself.

I wonder if there is a possibility if a person can ask to visit with an inmate who has no family, or visitors that visits them. Just so they can have a person to talk with and if they are religious to have a bible study or something. We have to remember that they are still people in there and need contact.

Is it possible to send a book to an inmate at McLennan County Jail? What are the rules?

no, no, and no. you can only write letters or visit inmates if your on their list of visitors, and usually you can only send loose papers or pictures not a book because of the bindings.

You can send any approved book but it has to be sent from the place you bought it: Amazon, Million Books, Barnes & Noble, etc...

This place is inhumane, the sheriff deputies in charge of work crews need to be supervised better. One Deputy actually hit an inmate with the work van. He also got talked to about going out with a black only work crew. They deny health services. You can be laying in there deathly ill for day's and get refused healthcare.
