and why doesnt this prison give you more details on the inmate incarcerated like when they will be release and what there charges are... and did they pass the juvenile bill yet? my friend goes to jail at 17 and ends up doing a life sentence, i dont think its fair and hes really a good person, weve all made mistakes so im praying for a second chance for him, he was hanging around the wrong people if only there was something i could do for him. srry venting love you Ivan xoxoxoxoxoxoxo i been writing u for 5 yrs now and that will never change, here for u always!!!!!!

My dads been in this jail almost eleven years . I just turned 16 this month its really sad growing up without a father him not being able to tell me happy birthdayy , not being able to see him , hug him , or just simply talk to him . He's In Pennsylvania and I'm in Texas . I really miss him and I love him even if I don't really get to talk to him. I've never seen him since they took him away because moneys tight , and airfare is expensive . I wish their was a way to just know more about him somehow . . . I love you daddy . . .

I served 6 yrs on a 5-10 yr. sentence for Involentary Manslaughter. I just turned 18 yrs. Old at the time and got into a fist fight in school and I punched the guy in the face and it killed him. I did not meen for that to happen and I still would trade places with him if I could some how. I served my time at S.C.I. Somerset. A lot of people might say" O' 6 years is not a long time"... Let me tell you 1 day in Prison feels like a week and every day your treated like shit by the guards... Who are just over paid abusive SCUMBAGS... Don't get me wrong... Even when I was in prison, I would see some people and say to myself" Dam, I'm glad he's locked-up", because I wouldn't want them near my family. But the prisons are over crowded with mostly non-violent drug offenders. These are the people that should not be in prison. But the way politicians look at it is. If they keep the prisons full, then they gotta build more and that means more jobs. Ect. It's all about $$$$$$$ Just like everthing else in life. Politicians don't care if people get rehabilitated or not. As long as their getting paid is all that matters. So who should be in Prison? CHILD-MOLESTERS, RAPIST, MURDERERS And VIOLENT OFFENDERS. DO I FEEL I DESERVED THE 6 YRS. I DID??? ABSOLUTLEY And I feel it made me a better and stronger person as well as a more caring person for others. Thanks for reading, I hope you agree:)

To Andrew G, above: Thank you for that, and I more than agree with you. My fiancée is doing 3 to 6 but hasn't started it yet, even though he's been in jail for about 6 months. He is completely sane, and not violent or sexual in his crimes, and I don't agree with the fact that he is and will continue to be sitting in jail for longer than some actual deserving offenders when he's not a threat to society, himself, or anyone else. If politicians and other money hungry douchebags wouldn't be running the show I'm sure things would be different, maybe a little more "just." I'm glad to see you and others like you made it out okay, though because it gives me hope. Anyone who knows what it's like to deal with corrections bullshit and the strain that prison puts on people and families is thankful when they see someone come out alright in the end.
