The Coles County Jail in Charleston, Coles County, Illinois, like all jails is a maximum security facility. Because the inmates in this jail range from low level offenders to those being held for violent crimes like robbery, rape and murder, the security level is as high as is it is in any maximum security state prison. Some of the security features in this facility include security cameras, electronic detection and reinforced fencing topped with razor wire. Correctional officers in Coles County Jail are armed with mace and trained to use physical force to protect themselves and other inmates from violence.

The men, women and juveniles being held in the Coles County Jail are either awaiting trial or have been sentenced in the Coles County Court System already and been sentenced to a period of time of one year or less.     I was told visiting for inmates at coles county jail are Wed. and Sat. I went Wed. and was told by deputy it was Thuts. I asked him if it has always been Thur. and he said yes. We went Tonight (Thurs.) and was it isn't till Sat. What is the deal? Hours and days are not on web pages either. So what are they?

    Coles county is arresting ppl without evidence!!!falsified evidence....put up false police reports n conducting searches without warrants...I will be contacting the Mayor and whoever else I need to to complain until he is released from these false charges...he has a alibi n is doing good but they favorite the one who did it cuz he tells them things to keep his self out of jail...if he is not released I will come forward with everything I have on CHARLESTON POLICE DEPARTMENT THEY HAVE UNTIL MONDAY 2/6/12 TO RELEASE HIM FROM THE FALSE ASS CHARGES WITH NO EVIDENCE!!!! TIME IS TICKING!!!

    Just like Officer Blevins being shitty to people when he pulls them over....but ends up he was buying hydros from kids....oh but don't worry even though they let him go they still gave him his benefits...now he cuts down trees and buys a fifth every morning before he does
