    i keep hearing about hb 2649 being amended, and its not just for inmates whoes offene was before sept,1, 2011, butfor all those incarecarcerated now. And also, something about turning into a tdc, and those inmates with 6 months or less will get to go home, those with 6 months or more, returned to their county jail to finish out sentence. Please let me know!!!!

    JUST PRAY YOU NEVER GO TO DAWSON STATE JAIL. I DID A SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME (2 YRS) FOR A DWI AND WAS SENT THERE. THE GUARDS AND RANK ARE CORRUPT, I'VE SEEN IT, I KNOW WHAT GOES ON THERE. THE GUARDS AND RANK ARE THE SAME OR WORSE THAN THE CRIMINALS LOCKED UP THERE, THEY JUST HAVE NOT BEEN CAUGHT...YET

    I did 15 months there.. you never see the light of day until you leave there. and yes a lot of the guards are lesbian and have affairs with what ever inmate accordingly,, it is nasty and mean, violent, and forsaken..my advice ride your bunk, because thats where you will be most of the time any way..be prepared its day for day no good time..what you get is what you get..its prison people..plain and not so simple..

    OMG DAWSON STILL NOT CLOSED REALLY..... I did 6mths and believe mee it's beyond FILTHY unORGANIZED RACHET and yes ratchet is a word they need 2 burn DAT mf 2 DA ground when u living in filth like DAT (mode in DA shower &etc)dats beyond punishment and I thought DA guards were there 2 do their job not flirt and f**k wit DA inmates 2 words Dat explains Dawson state jail UN PROFESSIONAL...

    Oh my goodness, my daughter has been there a year and4 months. She has told me that it was really bad and that you can't even go outside. I know that she did wrong and has to pay her debt to society but really you can't even go outside for freash air. My heart is broke. SHE GOT 5 years. wow I'm worried!!!

    I was sentenced 20 mos. did 16 mos. I was HELL! I pray 4 all U how R still there. thank God yall will be moving soon. keep your heads up. u 2 will be FREE soon.     WOW! My daughter was transferred to Dawson on June 6, 2013 from Plane unit. WHY?? if they are closing? I am worried about her, I have not heard from her since she pulled chain in May. I hope to God she and the rest of them make out okay and the guards get punished for their wrong doings.

    My sister id locked up at that place and tells me.that the gaurds miss treat her and beat her my sister has. Mental issuse but shes not a aggresive person and i went to visit her she was all beat up. Smh me as her brother coulfnt even stand to see her like that i called the phone number they give you to complain but they gave me the run around. Right now my sister is there and i called a little while ago and she is still there but they have started to move people. I just. Pray for her i luv u Misty and pray for the rest dats left behind i have paid my duesand it wasn't easy at all. The guards are very rude and unprofessional, it's like hell in there, so God bless all and i pray you all make it out of there safe.

    I was released from there almost two weeks ago and it is as bad as they say. Girls were having seizures and us inmates were caring for them. Many girls had accidents... fell in the restroom and no one was ever contacted. I feel as though i deserved to pay for all the things in my life that i have done but Dawson is/was a cruel and unusual punishment!

    Dawson is what it is a privately owned prison. You make the best of your situation. I did my time there and I kept myself occupied the whole time. It is true you don't get to see the light of day and being confined in a dorm 24/7 will cause a lot of animosity among the inmates placed there. Although the conditions were bad I still had 3 hot meals and bed to sleep in. It didn't scare me to change. I had no intentions at that time. I'm a 3 time loser. It wasn't until I made a life time commitment to change. I quit using drugs and I accepted most of admitted to all that I had done in my life. Taking responsibility for my own actions and not blaming others for my crimes sure has made life a lot easier live. For those who have loved ones at Dawson pray for them and hope they do change. If they don't they'll be there again and again. I don't wish time on my worst enemy or anyone else whose there.
