  23. GorditaHernandez Wed, Aug 21 2013 4:18 PM

I was released from there almost two weeks ago and it is as bad as they say. Girls were having seizures and us inmates were caring for them. Many girls had accidents... fell in the restroom and no one was ever contacted. I feel as though i deserved to pay for all the things in my life that i have done but Dawson is/was a cruel and unusual punishment!

  24. change4life Mon, Aug 26 2013 10:27 AM

Dawson is what it is a privately owned prison. You make the best of your situation. I did my time there and I kept myself occupied the whole time. It is true you don't get to see the light of day and being confined in a dorm 24/7 will cause a lot of animosity among the inmates placed there. Although the conditions were bad I still had 3 hot meals and bed to sleep in. It didn't scare me to change. I had no intentions at that time. I'm a 3 time loser. It wasn't until I made a life time commitment to change. I quit using drugs and I accepted most of admitted to all that I had done in my life. Taking responsibility for my own actions and not blaming others for my crimes sure has made life a lot easier live. For those who have loved ones at Dawson pray for them and hope they do change. If they don't they'll be there again and again. I don't wish time on my worst enemy or anyone else whose there.
