Cherokee County Adult Detention Center uses iWebVisit for Inmate Video Visitation

• All visits are by appointment and first-come, first-serve.
• If you are using a desktop or laptop computer, the iWebVisit platform can be used with all operating systems.
• If you are using a tablet computer or mobile cellular device, the iWebVisit platform works with the Android operating system.
• The iWebVisit system may NOT support the iPhone or iPad, however an Apple MAC Book laptop is supported. The app for iPhones/iPads is coming soon so please check back regularly on their website or in the App Store.

How much does iWebVisit Cost?
The cost for a 15-20 minute visit varies.
It can be as low as $3.00 in some facilities, or as high as $8.00. Prices may change with no notice.

How does iWebVisit video visitation work?
1. Create a free account.
2. “Choose A Facility” and then select the facility you want to visit with. Whatever facility you choose will become your “Default” facility each time you log in.
3. Click “Schedule a Visit” and enter the inmate name and inmate number. Select either “Visit Now” or “Schedule Visit Later” and choose an available date and time.

Can I use iWebVisit from the jail lobby if I don’t have a computer?
No. You can only use these video visitation services from your own computer or device.
How does the Inmate Know I am Logged in and Ready to Visit?
Visits are first come, first serve and an appointment must be made by you.
Your inmate will be notified of the date of your video visit once you secure a time.

How often can you visit?
The number of times you can visit each week is a policy determined by this jail, typically twice a week, although visitation frequency is subject to change based on security circumstances .

What are the Rules for using iWebVisit at Cherokee County Adult Detention Center
All Remote Visitation sessions are reserved in advance, prepaid, and non-refundable.
All visitors are responsible for having working equipment and a strong internet connection. 
Unsuccessful visits due to your own equipment, browser, and internet issues cannot be credited.
If a visit is cancelled for any reason at least 24 hours in advance of the visit, you will automatically receive a prepaid code for future use. This code will be sent to your email.
If a visit is not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance you will NOT receive a prepaid code for future use.
After a visit is scheduled, the time of the visit cannot be changed.
If you miss a visit for any reason, no waiver code can be provided as the visit session was held for you whether you attended or not.
If you schedule a “Same-Day” visit and cancel or miss it for any reason, no waiver code can be provided as the visit session was held for you whether you attended or not.
If you are an attorney or clergy and want to schedule a ‘confidential visit’, you need to email pictures of your state-issued identification (and bar card for lawyers) to be granted confidential status. Please follow these directions.

• First you must register and schedule a visit with iWebVisit.
  
• Inmates are allowed visits based on their current Housing and Status.
• Visitation times listed on iWebVisit.com show when the inmates are generally available for visits. These times do not reflect court, medical visits, work, classes, etc.
• If an inmate cannot or will not attend his/her previously scheduled visit, it will be canceled, and a replacement code will be emailed to the primary visitor.
• Visits must be scheduled one day in advance.
• Each inmate is allowed one visit per day on their assigned day.
• No more than two people per visit.
• Visits are 30 minutes.

ON-SITE VISITATION SCHEDULE

Cherokee County Adult Detention Center Remote Video Visitation

• Each inmate is allowed three remote visits per day and each visit is 15 minutes long.
• The cost is $6.00 per visit for standard visitors and $7.00 per visit for approved confidential visitors (e.g. Attorneys) who choose to visit via this service.
• Attorney Visits are 7:30-10:30AM, 12:30-6:00PM, 6:00-9:40PM.
• In the event your visit is canceled due to scheduling conflicts, lockdown, or inmate release/transfer, a credit voucher may be issued.
• Male IWF Only - Visits are everyday from 4:00PM - 9:40PM.

REMOTE VISITATION SCHEDULE - General Population

What is a video visit?

Video visitation, also known as remote visitation, is quickly becoming the preferred method for visiting an inmate in jail or prison for the following reasons:

•    It requires little to no staff, versus the staff required to move inmates to and from the visit and watch over the visit. It saves the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center money.
•    It removes any opportunity for contraband (drugs) to enter the facility.
•    It can become a profit center for the facility, given that the revenue generated by visits is shared with the jail.
•    While inmates prefer to see family and friends in person, video visitation allows them to visit with them more often, and on a whim.
•    Video visitation gives the inmates and their visitors the feeling of more privacy.

Video visitation from the perspective of the visitor allows them to visit from their home, their car, at work, and even allows them to take their device to a family or religious gathering. It allows them to give their inmate the feeling of belonging and not being forgotten.

Video visitation can take place on a computer, a tablet or a phone. 

Video visitation saves time. Instead of spending hours driving to the jail, checking in, filling out paperwork, potentially being searched, waiting, and then having a 15–30-minute visit, if it isn’t cancelled at the last minute, the visit can be done from anywhere during a short break in the visitor’s day.

If the visitor does not have access to a phone or computer, they can make an appointment ahead of time and use terminals in the lobby of the jail.

You must also be on the inmate's approved list, even for a video visit.
