The Grand Traverse County Correctional Facility in the city of Traverse City, Grand Traverse County, Michigan is a maximum-security facility. Because the inmates in this jail range from low level, misdemeanor offenders to those being held for violent crimes like robbery, rape and murder, the security level has to be as high as is it would be in any maximum-security state prison.
