Following these instructions exactly will enhance your chances of getting official approval to visit an inmate.

It is highly recommended that prior to an inmate visit you call the jail at 520-547-8311 to confirm that visits have not been cancelled.

Pima County Mission Facility Visiting Hours, Schedule and Instructions

Step 1

Schedule a visit by calling (520) 351-8111 or going in person to the Jail Complex.

Step 2

Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled visit. Fill out the visitation form. Click here to view a copy.

All visitors, including Minimum Security Facility visitors, are to report to the Main Jail front desk, located at 1270 W. Silverlake Road, Tucson, AZ 85713

Step 3

Show a valid government-issued photo ID.

Who Can Visit an Inmate in Pima County Mission Facility

Anyone over the age of 18, who isn't on felony probation/parole and can produce a valid government-issued photo ID can be approved to visit an inmate in this jail.

Children under age 18 must be accompanied by the parent or legal guardian.

The Pima County Mission Facility reserves the right to deny any person the right to enter the jail it chooses and for any reason.

Pima County Mission Facility Visitation Application Process

Pima County Mission Facility does not require visitors to complete a visitation application process but does require all visitors to produce a valid government-issued photo ID. 

Visiting Hours in Pima County Mission Facility

Monday through Friday: 7:30am - 9:00pm

Saturday and Sunday: 7:30am - 2:15pm

No visits will be scheduled for federal holidays regardless of the day of the week the holiday falls on.

Each inmate is allowed one 30 minute visit per calendar week.

Up to four visitors can see an inmate at the visit.

Four visitors including children are allowed to visit the inmate during a visit.

If you are visiting from more than 100 miles away, Pima County Mission Facility the jail will authorize a one-time, special, unscheduled visit. You will need to show a valid government-issued ID that shows your current address.

Pima County Mission Facility Visitation Dress Code

The Pima County Mission Facility staff will turn anyone away who is not dressed appropriately for a visit.

The best way to be sure the visit takes place is to dress as if you are meeting someone's grandmother for the first time. 

Wear clothes that are not revealing.

Don't wear see-through material.

Have all undergarments covered (males and females) and avoid a lot of cleavage.

Shorts and skirts should reach mid-thigh.

Sleeves should be at least half-way to your elbow.

The following types of clothing are also prohibited:

Clothing promoting gang affiliation.

Anything displaying drugs, weapons or profanity.

Clothing depicting anything obscene.

Pima County Mission Facility Visitation Tips, Rules and Guidelines

Visitation schedules are strictly adhered to. If you arrive late for the visit, you will only be allowed the remaining time. For example, if you are scheduled to visit the inmate from 10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and you arrive in time to start the visit at 10:10 a.m., you will only have a five minute visit.

If you arrive 15 minutes late, your visit will be cancelled.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

All visitation is subject to unforeseen lock-down and other situations which may postpone or cancel all visitation.

Inmates who are on disciplinary lockdown are not permitted visitation.

There is no charge for lockers. You will be asked to properly secure your belongings prior to starting your visit.

Juvenile inmates cannot receive visits until after 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, but are allowed visits during regular hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Leave all personal belongings, except for your state ID in your vehicle.

Children must be monitored at all times or jail staff will end the visit early.

'At Home' Video Visitation

Many jails are implementing video visits. These visits are conducted via the Internet on computers, IPADS and Smart phones.

Video visits allow the visit to take place in the privacy of your own home. Some family members 'take their inmate with them' to church, the park, the doctor or anywhere else simply by signing in and bringing the device along.

Video visits save you from having to get your children ready, drive to the jail, wait in long lines and go through security checkpoints just to see the inmate.
