To locate an inmate within the Stanislaus County Jail system, go to the county’s In Custody Report.

The “In Custody Report” opens to display all inmates currently in Stanislaus County Jail.
There are two ways to search this file.
Scroll down the pages until you find your inmate.
Click on the small rectangle at the top left of the page. It will list multiple page copies down the left column. Scroll down the row clicking on individual pages to open and see if it is near the alphabet letter the inmate’s name begins with.
Once you find the correct page, scroll and find the inmate.
This report allows you to view:
- Inmate’s Full Name
- Charge - Displayed as a PC (Penal Code) – example –“496 (A) PC”. A quick online search of the code will tell you what crime it represents.
- Case #
- Inmate’s Date of Birth
- Arresting Agency
- Bail Amount
- Court Date
- Housing Location
- Arresting Agency
Stanislaus County Criminal Court Case Events
In addition to information about the inmate, you may be interested in what happens with the case.
These steps will help you find that information.
Get the “Case Number” from the inmate search page. (You can also search by name, but the case number will narrow the search to the exact case more quickly)
Enter the case number where it says “Search by Case Number”.
Click on “Search Now”.
The case page will open and you can view:
- Case Number
- Case Caption (Which will include the defendant’s name)
- Case Type (Will typically be CR for Criminal)
- Date Filed
- Case Status (Open, Reopen, Closed, etc.)
- Case Events (All hearing dates pertaining to the case and the reason for the hearing)
- Hearing outcomes
