Lake County Jail Visiting Hours, Schedule and Instructions


Step 1

Ask your inmate to be sure your name is on the visitation list.

Step 2

Schedule a visit by registering here, signing on and choosing the visit time and length.

Step 3

Arrive 15 minutes early and sign in for your visit. Show a valid, government-issued photo ID.



Who Can Visit an Inmate in Lake County Jail

Anyone over the age of 18, who is on the inmate’s approved visitor list, can show a valid, government-issued photo ID and can pay for a visit may visit an inmate at this facility.

Visitation applicants in Lake County must sometimes submit to a background check. Those with warrants are denied visitation or if allowed to visit, will be arrested at the jail.

Children under age 18 must be accompanied by the parent or legal guardian.

Lake County Jail requires you to be placed on the inmate’s visitation list and to register with an account at “GetOut” to be able to visit.

Visiting Hours in Lake County Jail

Visits are 30, 60 and 90 minutes long, depending on which length you purchase. You will choose from the currently available time slots at the time you schedule your visit.  During holidays there is an option for a two hour visit.

Visiting hours seven days a week are:

8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. 

Each inmate is allowed one visit per visitation day.

Lake County Jail Visitation Dress Code

The Lake County Jail staff will turn anyone away who is not dressed appropriately for a visit.

The best way to be sure the visit takes place is to dress as if you are meeting someone's grandmother for the first time. 

Wear clothes that are not revealing.

Don't wear see-through material.

Have all undergarments covered (males and females) and avoid a lot of cleavage.

Shorts and skirts should reach mid-thigh.

Sleeves should be at least half-way to your elbow.

The following types of clothing are also prohibited:

Clothing promoting gang affiliation.

Anything displaying drugs, weapons or profanity.

Clothing depicting anything obscene.

Lake County Jail Visitation Tips, Rules and Guidelines

Jail visits are conducted on a televised screen.

The length of the visit depends on which package your purchase when you schedule the visit. Visits must be paid for with a credit or debit card and are non-refundable if you miss the visit.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and guardians must provide proof of their guardianship.

Children must be monitored at all times or jail staff will end the visit early.
