When mailing a letter or postcard to an inmate, please address your mail as follows:

All mail sent to an inmate at the Harris County Youth Village must include the sender's name and mailing address in the top left corner of the envelope or postcard.

Failure to include your return address will most likely result in your mail NOT being delivered and your letter destroyed.

Type of Mail Allowed for Harris County Youth Village

Postcards & Letters

The Harris County Youth Village  does not restrict the number of letters and postcards a resident receives, but does restrict the resident to mailing out two letters per week. One of those weekly letters must be to an immediate family member. The second can be to friends or family.

Envelope/postcard must include a complete return address including sender’s first and last name or it will be rejected by staff members.



Mailed Items NOT Allowed

Letter containing inappropriate discussions/suggestions such as violence, escape, security risk.

Musical cards

Pens

Blank envelopes

Food items

Personal hygiene items

Anything that is inappropriate as deemed by staff

Policies Regarding Mailing Photos to the Harris County Youth Village

Residents at this facility can receive photographs as long as they do not depict: violence, drugs, weapons, pornographic/lewd images or anything deemed inappropriate by staff members.

Remember the resident can only send out two letters per week. One must be to family members. The other can be to family or friends.
