Report: 12-year-old robbed by two men on bikes

A 12-year-old boy told Spartanburg police that he was robbed by two men on bicycles, according to an incident report.

At 7:19 p.m. Sunday, police went to Canaan Pointe Road Extension near Southport Road in reference to a robbery, the report stated. When they arrived, officers spoke to the boy, who said he went to a nearby Spinx gas station to buy candy and noticed two men following him on bikes.

He told officers he heard them talking about a knife and BB gun they had as they followed him, the report stated. He said he tried to run away, but the two tripped him and started to hit him in the head.

The 12-year-old told officers the two never displayed any weapons, but he said they did take his backpack and a fanny pack that had his cell phone in it, the report stated.
