The Spartanburg Police Department will conduct traffic safety checkpoints within the city limits this weekend.
Motorists will be asked to provide their driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. Officers will also be checking seat belts and child safety restraints.
The checkpoints are being held as part of a Highway Safety grant.
“Our goal is to reduce the number of vehicle collisions and aggressive driving incidents,” according to a statement from the Spartanburg Police Department. “We hope our efforts will increase the overall safety of the roadway in the city of Spartanburg.”
