The Spartanburg Police Department charged an Inman man Monday after witnesses said he performed sex acts near a stolen car.
William Boyd, 25, was charged with two counts of indecent exposure and possession of a stolen vehicle by the Spartanburg Police Department. He remains in custody.
Officers were called Monday afternoon to the parking lot of Carolina Cash on East Broad Street in response to a report of indecent exposure.
According to the report, multiple witnesses told officers they watched Boyd perform a sexual act while standing outside next to a car in the business’ parking lot.
When officers made contact with Boyd, the report indicates he was undressed in the car and told officers he was living inside the vehicle and was attempting to clean himself. A subsequent investigation on the car found that it was stolen, according to the report.
Boyd was arrested, his phone was placed into evidence and the car was returned to its owner after it was towed, according to the report.
