Dear Sirs, I am from Sri Lanka. I have a good friend by the name Mr. Gregory A DeRosier or Greg Rosier, inmate No.522777 and I wish to send a letter to him. I have got the address from his family member as P.O.Box 200, Fox Lake WI 53933-002. I find this address is different to the address given in your website. Please advise me whether I could send my letter to Greg to the address I have mentioned in this page.

Very curious as to the reason your inmates can use the phone as freely as if they were at home. I feel this is not teaching your inmates anything. When they can call as little as 6 times a day or as many as 20 times a day. I feel strongly that there should a minimum amount of phone calls per inmate per week. Thank you

Donna, spending all of your day in a box surrounded by barbed wire and armed guards is not a rosy experience. I'd think before you write, especially advocating that inmates have a limit on communicating with their family, such as me. How do you expect inmates to rehabilitate back into our communities if you cut them off? What about the many inmates who are exonerated because they were discriminated against or screwed over by the justice system? Read the Bill of Rights. The right to a fair defense, and how do you get that if you don't have the ability to make calls to a lawyer or supporters. These are HUMAN rights. Also, inmates are charged exorbitant fees for these calls so the reason the prison allows it is they exploit and profit off the basic services for inmates (such as medicine and clothing). Also, educate yourself about prisoners: In 2001, 88.7% of those sentenced to federal prisons. The vast majority are convicted of non-violent crimes including property offenses (7.5%), drug offenses (55%) and public-order offenses (25.5%). So you take addicts, which doctors will tell you is a public health problem and the remedy is not one at all: throw them in a box with healthcare (that pets receive better than), and our state constitution says their wards of the state so that is our responsibility as citizens: http://www.publiceye.org/defendingjustice/pdfs/factsheets/7-Fact%20Sheet%20-%20Basic%20Facts.pdf
