The Putnam County Sheriff operates the Putnam County Correctional Facility and provides for all of the basic needs of the inmates as well as enforcing the local laws. Once an arrest occurs the offender is transported to this facility where they are booked, and they will then be assessed for their housing assignment. This includes a physical and a mental health assessment to ensure that all basic needs can be met and that the inmates will receive any addiction or other treatment that they require.

  • You must be on the inmate's visitor list.
  • After completing the classification process, inmates are allowed four 30-minute blocks (2 hours) of visitation time each week. (Inmates, within 24 hours of being booked, are allowed one 15-minute initial visit).
  • Unused time does not carry over.  30 minute minimum visits. Professional. Legal, or Pastoral visits do not count against the weekly visitation time.
  • Up to two adults and two children may visit at a time. Adult visitors, 18 years or older, must provide a valid, government issued photo ID. Children under 18 can use a birth certificate.
  • A maximum of 3 guests are allowed per inmate.
  • Dress professionally (no hoodies, flip flops, etc.) with non-revealing clothing.
  • Visitation is first come, first seated. If visitation seating is to capacity, visits may be delayed entry to the next available time slot.
  • There is no visitation on Saturdays, Sundays or Legal Holidays. (Holiday Schedule)
  • For holidays celebrated on Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays, visitation will be on Wednesday of the same week at the scheduled hours for the day of the holiday.
