This is a huge increase over the previous jail that was used from 1974 to 2007, and housed only 154 inmates maximum.

CURRENT ULSTER COUNTY JAIL
The Ulster County Jail wants you to call them at 845-340-3644 to find out about an inmate's incarceration and to get their ID#, but you can also look them up on Vinelink. In addition, Ulster County has an online Court Case Lookup as well, which you can use as a 'guest'.
Under NY law each county sheriff is responsible for the operation of a county jail to house all offenders who are arrested within the county. There are minimum requirements for each facility that must be met by the sheriff's office. To meet this need the Ulster County Sheriff employs both fulltime and part-time correctional staff who all work at the Ulster County Law Enforcment Cetner where both the jail and the headquarters for the Sheriff Patrol and Civil divisions are housed. The capacity was increased to 426 but the building was designed such that it allows for it be easily and quickly increased to 502 by using double bunking in some spaces. To help with the cost of the space the additional beds are used by other counties and agencies to house their inmates as well.
Phone Services: Inmates have access to phones and can call each day, with funds being added to their account via the Securus app for the county jail.
Visitation: Visitation is booked through the Securus app for the jail and may be in person or remotely via video call.

How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
The Securus system knows the times that Ulster County Jail inmates are available for remote video visits.
