Within Clinton County the Clinton County Jail is an unimposing brick building that spreads out to contain a fenced outside recreation yard, several housing units, a medical center, kitchen, laundry, and other service areas, booking and intake, and offices.

Each of these areas is monitored around the clock for safety, and it meets the needs of low and medium security inmates, male and female.

For inmate inquiries the office can be contacted at 518-565-4300 where they will be able to provide location, bail, visitation, and other details.

Medical care is provided, both ongoing with prescriptions provided and in response to illness or injury that occurs during their incarceration.

Mental health professionals provide counseling and there is access to substance abuse treatments and support groups within Clinton County Jail.

Segregation cells are provided away from the general population, to provide a safe space for those who are ill, who require separation for their own safety, or who have become a safety risk to other inmates.

In addition to support within the building, inmates gain support from their family and friends who communicate through mail, receiving phone calls, or visits.
