Fulton County Correctional Facility is a 165-bed jail based in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. You can reach them anytime for inmate information at 518-736-2198.
Arrested individuals, whether for misdemeanors or felonies, are brought here for booking and processing. Depending on the charges, they may remain incarcerated until they are either bonded out, released on their own recognizance, or held until their trial concludes.
The inmate search tool allows you to access the facility's inmate roster and see who is currently in custody.
Inmates sentenced to less than one year will serve their time at this jail. Sentences longer than one year result in transfers to either the New York State Prison System or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
This page provides all the information you need regarding inmate services, including the visitation schedule, how to fund an inmate's account, sending mail, receiving phone calls, voicemail, emailing and texting, tablet rentals, bail bond details, and commissary purchases.

⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessThe Corrections Division of Fulton County operates the Fulton County Correctional Facility where all offenders, on both felony and misdemeanor charges, will be held until they make bail, are transferred, or are finished their short sentence that was under a year long.
The capacity is 165 but the average daily population is 125, allowing for all inmates to be housed appropriately, have access to services and programs that will help them with their future outside of incarceration, and have their own space for sleeping and doing tasks.
Upon intake, the booking process is completed, which includes a medical screening, fingerprinting and mugshots, DNA sample, along with an assessment to determine security needs, medical needs, mental health requirements, and housing assignment.
Staff is available to transport all inmates to court dates and any medical appointments or emergency needs, as well as inspecting all mail for contraband, receiving commissary funds and other money for inmates, maintaining the safety of the community and the security of the facility, and other tasks.
The Fulton County Correctional Facility also provides several other services to inmates including basic needs in meals, laundry, and hygiene items, and programs including AA, counseling, religious programs, education, recreation, and opportunities to grow social and life skills.
All basic needs and services are provided including nutritious meals, laundry, clothing, recreation, exercise, and all of the necessary medical and mental health care during their length of incarceration.
The single story, red brick facility is located at the intersection of Harrison Street and West NY-29, right next door to the Fulton County Complex. The correctional facility shares the building with the county sheriff.
During incarceration the friends or family of an inmate are able to support them through the deposit of funds to their commissary or phone accounts at the kiosks in the lobby or online.
Incoming calls are not accepted by the phone system, but an emergency message can be conveyed to the staff at the main number of 518-736-2198, and the staff will inform the inmate to call.
Visits are also available twice a week, and each visit is an hour long. To schedule your first visit, contact the staff and they will schedule your visit around the schedule of the inmate.
Visits are always between 2:00 and 10:00PM, 7 days a week. Each inmate, based on their housing, is assigned two one-hour visiting days and times.
After arrest, individuals are processed at Fulton County Correctional Facility, where they undergo a series of steps that determine their charges and whether they’ll be released on their own recognizance, allowed to post bail, or held until their court date.
