The Carrollton City Jail in Carrollton, Collin County, Texas, like all jails is a maximum security facility. Because the inmates in this jail range from low level offenders to those being held for violent crimes like robbery, rape and murder, the security level is as high as is it is in any maximum security state prison. Some of the security features in this facility include security cameras, electronic detection and reinforced fencing topped with razor wire. Visiting an Inmate in the Carrollton City Jail in Texas

The city of Carrollton, Texas has one jail located at 2001 East Jackson Road. To find out if someone you may know is in the Carrollton City Jail, you must go to the jail in person and inquire through the jail staff in the lobby. You can also call the jail at (972) 466-3335.

If someone you know is in the Carrollton City Jail, they do allow visitations, but with plenty of rules and limitations. Generally, visits are seven days a week between the hours of 2- 4 PM, or from 9-10 PM. Bear in mind, however, that visits can be cancelled at any time without notice by a Jail Supervisor. Only two visitors are allowed at a time, and visitations last from 10 to 15 minutes on average. Visitors also must be at least 17 years of age, be properly dressed and have no active arrest warrants on them. All visitors are required to show ID (driver’s licenses or state issued IDs are preferred if not mandatory), and are subject to searches before a visit.

Visitors are able to give the prisoner money, as well as reading materials and prescription medication. A prisoner’s medication will be dispensed in the prescribed manner by the jail officials, and all reading material must be approved by the jail staff as well.

If you know someone in jail, but cannot visit, prisoners can also make phone calls. A prisoner is entitled to one free phone call after the booking process has concluded, and they may also make collect calls during the day from their assigned cell block.

You may also obtain property from an inmate. The inmate needs to grant written permission to authorize the release of their property. It is necessary to complete the form to release the property, and present valid ID when coming to obtain it.
