I think the whole state of Iowa is a big mistake not to mention the county attorney in Marion county. That guy really needs to be investigated for a lot of things he's done. I also agree that they should keep the loved ones of inmates better informed. I waited for 3 weeks to hear from my husband and now that he finally got to call me one time, they moved him again and now I don't know when the next time will be before I hear from him or get to see him.

To find out where a loved one is in the state of Iowa go to www.vinelink.com. On the map, click on Iowa. Then click on the Offender button. Then you can input the persons name and it will tell you where they are. You can also sign up to get emails when they are transferred. However keep in mind it does take up to 48 hours for that type of info to be updated within the computer system.

If there is someone you know that has not being interviewed by the parole board for parole/work release consideration and just received a "lay down letter' that's illegal practice,by law the inmate is suppose to appear before the parole board at a hearing and be able to speak in his own behalf, not having the opportunity to do so is a due process violation of both the state and federal constitutions. And if your loved ones are in prison without having been to a parole board hearing every year of their incarceration in prison and never seen the parole board its illegal and help is on the way.

Dear Warden, I’m coming to you with nothing but respect for what you do and what you have to put up with. But, in my short stint as an inmate in the United States prison system, I’ve learned only 1 thing, 1 major thing. Respect will be paid. Now, take a little walk with me. Even since my first day til my final release from a work release facility, I was always certain to show respect to the older vets. And, even though it was hard for me because I had given up my gang a few years earlier and had nobody to watch my back, I survived by staying low, keeping my mouth shut and, always, ALWAYS, showing respect. Now, let me ask you a question, man to man. Professional to professional. If you had the opportunity to run the prison just the way you wanted to run it. No congressman breathing down your neck every time a guard gets shanked, knowing full well in reality that that particular guard got it for not listening to your warnings to stay away from certain individuals. Sure he wasn’t breaking protocol but, you knew it was gonna happen, right? Right! God dammit, right? Right. That’s just an example but, a true one down to the bone. And, it’ll happen again and again and again until the end of time unless there’s a change. Please, take heed, really. The truths I’m about to spill are ones of forgiveness, compassion, and love. Now, I’ve spoken with the Lord and he urges me, that BBQ Sundays is the answer. Sorry I’m not better spokesman but, it, really, is a perfect plan. The Lord of Hosts urges me further that as a Warden, “Please, rather be disappointed in any convict that has to miss out.” See the change? Rather, just be disappointed. I don’t know if you’re from a prison that took cigarettes away when shit didn’t stop but, if not, let me break to you 1 hard truth. IT IS HELL! What if you were on the bottom of the food chain in Levenworth when the 1 vice that kept all the physcos at bay was a simple cigarette? Same analogy as the one I gave you about the guard that didn’t take your advice and PRIDEFULLY walked into a knife. Right? Right! Now, I don’t think it would be too much trouble for you to rally all your contacts and, plead to your congressman for BBQ Sundays, as a means of healing, really, but, what I think would really sell it is if the congressman were to come to find that the peeps of all the inmates were asked to, “Fill out a KITE too.” “Cigerettes! Cigerettes! Cigerettes!” they rallied. Now, I have a five point plan that I won’t release until all this is considered and taken seriously. I am not the father/dad/caring tax-paying citizen to handle all of this but, if a man who is doing upwords of 40 years cause his GOD DAMN COURT-APPOINTED ATTORNEY floated him up the river… The guy helped me out. Sincerely, Codie.

I don't see how they can over rule a Judge and but a no contact order on my and my husband. I'm all that my husband has and I'm his power of Attornery
