   I find it very difficult to obtain any information on inmates and how to set up accounts for them and information needed for visiting them. I attempt to call the telephone numbers listed only to have those calls go unanswered. This is a very poor system.

   We agree. There needs to be a better way to get information. The best thing to do if you want to talk to someone is to call 810-257-3426 for information. All the information you need to know regarding inmate jail visitation and phones is up above on the left titled INMATE SERVICES.

   Yes. This system is totally ridiculous and it's because no one there really cares. Just because I know someone in jail doesn't mean I am a criminal.I am a respectful citizen who has always worked for a living and I don't deserve to be treated with disrespect. My time is just as important as any of yours. I guess because you wear a badge it gives you the right to treat people poorly, it doesn't. That is probably part of what is wrong with Flint. Our law enforcement stinks. You should all learn how to treat people with respect and they may respect you.

   How is it legal to have the bull pen so full that they can't move. There have been people in there for over a week. That's inhumane Genesee County. I wonder if channel 12 news knows anything about this?

   They don't care because they don't have to report the people in the bull pen. This way it doesn't look like they are overcrowded.

    Anna, I have been trying to call for days to no answer every 30 minutes no answer, The only helpful thing I can tell you is to go to the jail Inmates Visiting Desk They have to tell you these what is going on. Or if you go to http://www.co.genesee.mi.us/roaccsinq/default.aspx you can look up a record check for the 7th district court house to try and get some info on whats going on. Or also try http://www.co.genesee.mi.us/districtcourt/recordschk.htm That is the link to 67th District court house record Check. This system really is sad how hard is it for someone to answer the phone they just don't care!!!!

    Out of state My husband was arrested Wednesday afternoon. Ive been calling and calling and calling since Wednesday and still no answer. This is so sad.

    I'm a victim trying to ensure the inmate is still incarcerated and can't reach anyone. He isn't listed in Vinelink, which is supposed to report through texts/email if an inmate is released/arrested what have you...but the "we are too busy to answer your call" message is driving me nuts!

    my son was just sent there on Monday and I have been trying everything I can to find out information and can never get anyone to answer any of the phones there, so I called right to the administration office and talked to a woman there and she was very helpful. Maybe if everyone started calling the administration office all the time, they will get tired of taking calls for the jail and make some changes as far as getting someone at the inmate information line to answer the phone.

    Who is monitoring this place? My husband s been sleeping on concrete with no blanket. He has health problems and need medicine but no nurse has been around to check. I have not heard from him in almost 3 days and no one answers the phone so you can find out about arraignment. These are human beings, and not everyone there is actually a criminal!!!

    Might As well not Bother Calling when I was arrested a week or so ago they simply don't answer the phone ...... Seen with my own eyes. TI watched 6-8 power head Rent a cops gang up on a old man for simply complaining they were hurting his arm while they dragged him and 4 other in the booking area..I also watched one women be separated from the rest of us in for asking to use the bathroom.. They closed her up in a single cold cell to teach a lesson.. My own daughter was arrested with me also on a bogus charge.. about 6 women all first time ever being charged with idiotic charges.. The power head rent a cops took my daughter away from the group because she chucked with the rest about one of the girls totally tripping out about being there. Anyhow they Cuffed my daughter and took her in another room to ruff her up.. When she told them to go ahead and keep hitting her that she may be pregnant.. they told she should have swallowed!!! Needles to say It is very inhuman.. Staph is all over the Place and the place is dirty.. 26 hours give or take I would not use the toilet or eat the food.. And if I had to stay longer I probably would have ended up in the hospital or dead...

    All of you complaing have the choice to vote this insensitive sheriff who has forgotton who he works for, out. Instead of complaing next time he is up for election volunteer to help the opposing candidate. I did not vote for him myself this year,for that very reason and figured because of his poorly run jail he wouldnt have a chance. I too am a law abiding tax paying business owner who has never been abe to get through to the jail, when inquiring about my brother. Next election I will volunteer to help the opposing candidate, regardless of his political leanings. Because if al you do is run the jail and thats the best you can do, its NOT good enough!

    This is a jail, what do all of you expect? These people put their lifes on the line and put up with things that all of you have no idea about. They dont get paid enough to do what they do. I agree about the phones but you dont know whats happening on the other side. Lets not forget that its Flint. Not the ideal character of people. A lot of people believe they are entitled to be treated in a certain way and thats the problem. Anyone who believes they are entitled to anything should automaticaly be prepared to be let down. "Respect" is too easily being thrown around. That seems to be a "go-to" word to make everyone feel like they have won an argument. How about trying to use the word "understanding" Then maybe we could all get along a little better on both sides. Nobody is right in this situation but placing blame never gets either side too far. Im ready for the comments.....GO!

    WE CURRENTLY HAVE A SON IN THERE NOW WHOM WILL BE MOVED DOWN TO GEORGIA AND WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THREW EITHER TO FIND OUT A THING. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CANT GET THE PROGRAM OAKLAND COUNTY JAIL HAS WHERE YOU AGREE TO THE DISCLAMIER AND THEN DO THE INMATE SEARCH AND IT PULLS UP EVERYONE INCARCERATED IN THE LAST 72 HOURS WHOS BEEN RELEASED WHOS STILL IN WITH ACTIVE HOLDS ALL OF IT. I MEAN HONESTLY YEA ITS FLINT I GET THAT BUT STILL ITS A SIMPLE PROGRAM IM SURE ALL IT TAKES IS ONE OF THEM PEOPLE IN THERE TO DO THE JOB OF GETTING IT GOING THEN THE BOOKING UPDATES IT ALL AS NEW PEOPLE COME IN OR RELEASE. ITS JUST INSANE HOW PEOPLE HAVE TO GO ON BEING WORRIED ABOUT THEIR LOVED ONES BECAUSE OF LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE ON THE OUTSIDE WHO CARE AND ARE NOT THE ONE BEHIND BARS WHO JUST WANT SOME ANSWERS SUCH A SAD SAD SETUP.

    I called the 810-257-3426 and that number also does not get answered!! This is ridiculous when someone wants to find out about their family member and can't!! My husband got arrested on 5/8 and I don't know anything about where he is or when he goes to court or anything!!
