Accredited in corrections cince 2008, the Columbia County Jail is operated by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. The facility was opened in 1989 and houses 135 inmates who are being held on felony or misdemeanor charges while they await bail, their trial, or serving their sentence.

As the Columbia County incarceration location, Columbia County Jail also houses federal inmates and those from other counties who are overcrowded and in need of additional space.

For healthy meals there is a food services staff, medical staff provide full medical care, and mental health professionals are available for counseling and treatments. Both indoor and outdoor recreation spaces are provided with a range of activities including foosball and basketball.

Phone calls are only outgoing with no ability to accept incoming calls, so you must wait for an inmate to contact you. Create an account in order to receive calls and provide funds to pay for them, or deposit money at the kiosk in the lobby.
