About the Niagara County Correctional Facility

In Niagara County the Jail is operated and manned by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office which both enforces all local laws and manages the facility as well. This includes serving all valid warrants, responding to community calls and emergencies, processing and booking all those who are newly arrested, maintaining the online database and inmate locator, transporting all inmates to and from medical care and court appearances, and ensuring the healthy, safety, and security of all inmates within the facility and the staff.

Programs and services are in place to help inmates to have all their basic needs met, including clothing and food services, as well as programs to help with any medical needs, addiction treatment, access to a commissary, some educational programming and even training for improved employment opportunities.

The jail is designed with four separate 56-cell direct supervision housing pods arranged around a unit control center. They permit observation ofinmate's recreation activity outdoors from only two separate security positions.
