The home detention program sees offenders remain in their own homes with an ankle monitor to track their location. They are able to work, to attend school, go to any appointments they need, but will be provided with a strict curfew and limitations on their movements.
The work release program allows inmates to attend work each day and may be permitted to serve the majority or all of their sentence at home with the monitoring program rather than being held in a facility.
To be accepted into the program an application must be filled out, and they will need to meet all the criteria including serving a Dane County sentence, have been given Huber privileges upon their sentencing, complete necessary assessments, have no history of negative behavior while incarcerated, and pass a drug screening.

Magazines
You may send magazines to the inmate, who is allowed up to two magazines in his or her possession at once. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
You may send soft-covered books to the inmate. He or she is allowed to have up to two books in possession at any time.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the William H. Ferris Center Jail Diversion standards will be disposed of.
