Fresno County Juvenile Hall performs a few purposes including housing juveniles who have been arrested and are waiting for their court date, or who are being held for those being transferred to the California Youth Authority, other jurisdictions, who are being transferred to the adult justice system, who are going into foster homes or group homes, and those who have been sentenced to remain for a set amount of time. Programs are in place to assist youth in continuing their education and learning new skills that will help them to integrate easily back into the community and build successful lives. Alice Worsley School provides the regular education, substance abuse programs are offered, Boys and Girls Clubs, Thinkinf or a Change, Planned Parenthood, mentoring programs, arts and crafts, and others are all provided to all of the youth who find themselves within the facility. Incoming calls are not permitted, and only approved phone numbers may be contacted.
