Sacramento County Jail - Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center - Females does not require an application, unless you are a convicted felon. All others will have their ID’s run through a nationwide database to check for probation/parole status and for active warrants.

If an active warrant is found, you will be arrested at the jail.

Who Can Visit an Inmate in Sacramento County Jail - Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center - Females

Anyone over the age of 18, who can produce a valid government-issued photo ID can be approved to visit an inmate in this jail.

Exceptions:

If you have been released from this facility or the Main Jail within the past 30 days, you may not visit an inmate here.

If you are on parole in any state in the nation, you cannot visit an inmate at this facility.

If you are part of any county’s work release program or work furlough program you are not allowed to visit an inmate here.

If you have even spent time in any state prison due to a felony conviction, you cannot visit an inmate here unless you get permission from the Watch Supervisor or Jail Commander before visiting. It is a crime for a convicted felon to be on the grounds without prior permission.

This jail limits the number of visitors at each visit to three people including any children.

Jails limit the number of people that can visit an inmate to two adults each visit.

Children under age 18 must be accompanied by the parent or legal guardian.

If you are a co-defendant with the inmate in a pending case, your visit will be denied.

If you and the inmate are under a court order to have no contact with each other, your visit will be denied.

The Sacramento County Jail - Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center - Females staff will turn anyone away who is not dressed appropriately for a visit.

The best way to be sure the visit takes place is to dress as if you are meeting someone's grandmother for the first time. 

You must wear footwear-sandals, boots or shoes.

Wear clothes that are not revealing.

Don't wear see-through material.

Have all undergarments covered (males and females) and avoid a lot of cleavage.

Shorts and skirts should reach mid-thigh.

Sleeves should be at least half-way to your elbow.

The following types of clothing are also prohibited:

Clothing promoting gang affiliation.

Anything displaying drugs, weapons or profanity.

Clothing depicting anything obscene.

Both you and your vehicle are subject to search while on facility grounds. If illegal contraband such as drugs or weapons are located in your vehicle during a search, it will be treated as if you had it on your person and you will be subject to arrest.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and guardians must provide proof of their guardianship.

Leave all personal belongings, except for your state ID in your vehicle or in a locker (if one is provided).

Children must be monitored at all times or jail staff will end the visit early.
