With 50 beds, the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Hall is located in San Luis Obispo, California. It houses all of the youth offenders within the county who have been arrested and are waiting for their first court date, who are waiting to hear their sentence, or who have been sentenced to the facility. While residing at the location there are regular school classes provided by local teachers, medical treatment is provided, dental care is available, and mental health care is provided. Outdoor recreation, daily school, and several constructive activities are also available, and participation is expected. Art classes, chess, alcohol and drug treatment, counseling, support programs, yoga, tutoring, book clubs and more are all available regularly to all youth who are in the facility. Mail: Both incoming and outgoing mail is permitted, but will be checked for contraband, must contain only approved letters and other items, and has to have a full return address.
