Wondering whether you have a warrant in Arapahoe County or anywhere in Colorado? Crimewatch is a good first stop. For information about a court case involving you or someone close to you, check the official Colorado source. Since not all agencies post their warrants on Crimewatch, it’s possible for a warrant to exist even if it doesn’t appear there.

Under Colorado statutes, most criminal defendants in Arapahoe County charged with non-capital offenses are eligible for reasonable bail, while petty crimes and traffic offenses typically require no monetary bail. Judges weigh several factors in setting bail:

• Employment status and financial situation.
• Length of residence in the area and local family ties.
• The seriousness of the charge.
• Prior convictions and criminal history.

If you know the charge, a sample Colorado bond schedule will give you a rough idea of the amount, although judicial districts set their own schedules. Cash, surety bonds, and property bonds are accepted, as is release on personal recognizance.

The Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center holds a license for 37 inmates, but the actual count is often higher, especially on weekends. Most city and county jails in Colorado have a monthly turnover of at least 35-40% of their inmates, another 25-30% every 90 days, another 15-20% every six months, and roughly 8-9% who stay six to twelve months. Stays of more than twelve months usually involve serious charges such as murder or rape. Since preparing those cases for trial takes time, offenders arrested in this county are held at one of the Arapahoe County facilities much longer.

Every year, Arapahoe County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 32,940 offenders.
