About the Harmon County Jail & Sheriff
Built in 1975, the Harmon County Jail is showing its age in faded stone and damaged brick. It is a small, temporary holding facility that has beds for only 11 inmates at any one time. It is the main booking facility for all arrests made in the city of Hollis, Oklahoma. For preliminary holding, detainees remain in this facility until their preliminary hearing has occurred, after which they will await bail to be paik, be released if charges are dropped, or begin to prepare for their trial. Most inmates are released on bail, or after serving a short sentence. Any detainee who receives a long sentence will be transferred to a larger jail that is within the county or nearby. It offers basic food services, provides medical care, and monitors for any mental health concerns. Treatment is provided as needed and inmates are kept safe and secure, protecting not only their safety but that of the community around them. While in the location a visit can be held once a week, and must occur after 9am but before 6pm. Inmate online look up can assist in locating anyone who is arrested, and determining what facility they are being held at. It will include information about the charges, expected release dates, bail amounts, and other general information. Any friend or family can provide bail to someone who qualifies, and this can be paid at the facility.
