About the Okfuskee County Jail
Located at North 3rd Street in Okemah, Oklahoma, the Okfuskee County Jail is operated under the power of the sheriff’s office. This is the arresting and processing jail for the entire county and holds inmates that are arrested at the city level, the county level, or under federal regulations. Each arrest will result in the offender being taken to this facility where they will be booked and await their trial. Both male and female inmates are housed here for their length of their trial, until they make bail, or until they have finished serving their sentence. As with other smaller jails, the medical needs for inmates are cared for by a nurse and there are visits from a doctor to the facility as needed or on a regular basis. Prescription medication can be dropped off for anyone who is incarcerated in the facility at the front desk and will be provided to them according to the instructions and dosage on the packaging. As a key way to support the mental health of all inmates, there are methods of communication available between those who are incarcerated and their friends and family who are not. Phone calls are limited to outgoing only, and some numbers may be restricted by the jail. To ensure that there is money on the prepaid phone system, there is an online option for adding funds at touchpayonline.com. Visitors are also welcome during posted visitation hours, which may change and adapt to the inmates schedule, but visits are not permitted before 7:30am or after 9pm on weekdays or after 2:30pm on weekends..

Inmate Bail and Bonding

Steps to pay bail in Okfuskee County

After an arrest, individuals are brought to Okfuskee County Jail in Okemah for processing. Following this, three possible outcomes exist:

1. The individual may be released without posting bail, with a promise to appear in court.
2. The individual could be held in jail until their court date.
3. Bail or bond can be posted for release; for more information, contact 918-623-1122.

Bail payment can be handled through various means.

  • Pay a cash bond in full at the bonding window inside the jail or at the clerk of court, by cash, cashier's check or money order; a lobby kiosk or online bond vendor often takes debit and credit cards for an extra fee, and you should bring the inmate's full name and booking number (the jail can be reached at 918-623-1122).
  • Licensed bail bond agents in Okfuskee County are available for assistance.
  • Land or a home can often serve as bond collateral: the owner provides a deed and a recent tax or appraisal value showing clear title and equity of at least the bond amount, commonly double, and the court that set bail approves the pledge.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Okfuskee County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Okfuskee County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Okfuskee County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the payee the jail names (check with the jail first) and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order. Never mail cash or a personal check.
