About the Lamoille County Jail & Sheriff
With a capacity of just over 100 inmates, the Lamoille County Sheriff is responsible for not only the running of the local holding facility but also the day to day law enforcement of the entire county including the towns and cities within. The small holding facility has around 100 beds to house inmates as needed, and is located in Hyde Park, Vermont at 255 Main Street, PO Box 96, Hyde Park, VT. To send mail to an inmate it can be addressed to that inmate, with their inmate booking number, at that address, and once it has been checked for contraband it will be provided to the inmate. For a faster method of communication inmates are encouraged to create a list of people they want to be able to call, and once they have been approved by the staff, they will have access to phones during the day each day to make phone calls. Inmates cannot receive calls at the jail, and only in an emergency will a message be passed to the inmate to call someone. Anyone who wished to fund the spending account of an inmate while they are incarcerated can do so by taking cash or money order to the desk in the lobby, and once there will be provided with further information on alternative ways to do so. Money can also be delivered during visiting hours when a visit has been scheduled, and these begin after 7:30am and end before 9pm during the week, with shorter hours ending by 2:30pm on the weekends. The lobby will not be open for cash deposits on the weekends, even during visiting hours.
