About the Walla Walla County Jail

Both male and female offenders arrested in Walla Walla County are housed at Walla Walla County Jail. The location is not only the home of Walla Walla County Jail but also the home of the Walla Walla Police Department and College Place, in addition to the Sheriff’s Office.

Using one combined building provides access and cooperation between the agencies and ensures offenders will have a similar experience regardless of what agency arrests them, as well as limiting transportation needs. Also provided are fingerprinting, home monitoring of offenders who are serving their sentences at home with a tracking device, accepting bail, and supporting the needs of the detainees.

The inmates are offenders arrested in Walla Walla County that have recently been arrested for a felony or misdemeanor, are awaiting trial, or have been found guilty for their crime(s) and have been sentenced to one year or less.

Housing is determined by gender, any special requirements or access requirements, health needs with those requiring extended care in the medical section, the seriousness of the current charges and any past charges, along with a history of how they conduct themselves in prior incarcerations.

An online database shows who has been arrested, when they were arrested, charges, bail, and what facility to allow friends or family to locate people and discover their bond amounts. Further questions can be directed to the office staff at 509-524-5431.

Medical and mental health care are provided upon arrival if needed and throughout incarceration, with an assessment after booking being used to determine what services and programs will offer the most benefit to that detainee and they will be able to access them after they arrive in their housing assignment.

There are several ways for family or friends to provide support, both emotionally through accepting phone calls and going for visits, encouraging them to complete their programs and improving mental health, and by supporting them financially by funding their inmate accounts.

Their account can be funded at the same location as phone accounts and visits scheduled.

Any mail is sent through the post office with a full return address and the name of the sender to:

Inmate's Full Name & Inmate ID#
c/o Walla Walla County Corrections Department
300 W. Alder
Walla Walla, WA, 99362

... where it will be checked for explicit photographs, stickers, and other contraband before being released to the inmate.
