About the Flagstaff Jail Facility

Flagstaff Jail Facility is located at 951 E. Sawmill Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. It has a total capacity of 596 beds, an operating capacity of 477 beds (80% of the total) and an average utilization of about 78.02%.

It also has a temporary holding facility at 713 Tunnel Access Road, known as the Page Facility. You call the Flagstaff Jail 24 hours a day at 928-226-5200. The number for the Page Jail is 928-645-8873. Because the jail facilities in Coconino County do not have an official Jail Roster, to find information on an inmate you need to phone the Sheriff's Department at 928-226-5200 to get the information.

The facility houses both sentenced and un-sentenced misdemeanor and felony adult offenders, and it is operated and maintained by the Coconino County Sheriff's Department. The Flagstaff Jail Facility sits on a 20 acre parcel, is a total of 185,000 square feet and was built in 2001 at a cost of $27 million. The complex consists of the jail, the sheriff's department and police headquarters. The jail has minimum, medium and maximum security units, as well as administrative offices, officer training area,  booking section, release section, medical clinic, laundry facilities, storage, a full service kitchen, vehicle sally port, a work release facility and an on-site courtroom.

Inmates are allowed to send and receive mail and care packages from approved third-party vendors and make pre-paid calls to a pre-approved call list of mostly friends and family members. The jail has implemented video visitation, with visitors required to arrive between 8:00-11:30 am, 1:00-4:30 pm, and 7:00-8:30 pm, 7 days a week. Each inmate is permitted one hour free when they receive site visitation, and remote visitation is also available.

Several safety measures have been implemented, such as screening for sickness and travel history before booking, and keeping all non-essential personnel away from the facility.

Inmates have access to mail, pre-trial services, volunteer programs, and bond questions assistance, which are particularly important as two in five adults in jail or prison in Arizona have a history of mental illness according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Additionally, there are inmate accounts for both phone and commissary, as well as the ability to order certain hygiene, food, clothing, and writing items through Commissary. They can receive indigent kits with basic hygiene and other items if they do not have money on their accounts.

Mail can be received every day and is processed and passed to the inmates quickly. Friends and family of inmates in the Flagstaff Jail Facility can arrange to visit inmates by video, both at the jail and remotely from home. Friends and family can also communicate using an online text/email system, send them money and buy them commissary online, and set up a phone account that allows the inmates to call them during the day and evening seven days a week.

All the information on these inmate services can be found in the sections below.  If you still have questions, you can phone the jail 24 hours a day by calling 928-226-5200.
