About the Gila County Jail
The Gila County Jail, located in the city of Globe, in Gila County, Arizona is a medium to maximum-security facility.
Inmates in this jail range from low level misdemeanor offenders to those being held and awaiting trial for violent crimes like robbery, rape and murder. Therefore, the security level must be as high as is it would be in any maximum-security state prison.
Security features in the Gila County Jail include security cameras, electronic detection and reinforced fencing topped with razor wire.
Correctional officers in Gila County Jail are armed with mace and trained to use physical force to protect themselves and other inmates from violence.

Inmates in the Gila County Jail are fed three meals a day totaling 2,500 calories, are allowed at least one hour a day for exercise, have access to books, a legal library, and bathroom and shower facilities.

Convicted and Sentenced Inmates
Inmates that are convicted of a misdemeanor and/or sentenced to less than one year of a state crime serve their time in the jail.
Illegal immigrants may be transferred into ICE custody and are then deported, however if they were convicted of a state or federal crime, they will do their time first.
