15. What if the FBI arrested them?

These cases are made by the DEA and the Marshals Service. The case goes to the Western District of Arkansas's Harrison Division. Federal law sets that division's court in Harrison, but the court's location list lists no Harrison office. Its northwest location is the federal building at 35 East Mountain Street, Room 510, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Call the clerk at 833-853-0345 to ask where hearings are held. An initial court date comes fast, before a magistrate judge. The federal system does not use a bail schedule. The magistrate settles detention or release at a detention hearing following the Bail Reform Act. Expect a short interview from a pretrial officer, whose report helps the judge.

While it's open, U.S. Marshals often hold federal prisoners in the Yellville jail by contract. Search for them with the county roster. Otherwise phone the Marshals office for the Western District at 479-289-7470 or 479-424-5000 (you can call either), (30 South 6th Street, Room 243, Fort Smith, AR 72901). Those sentenced to federal prison move out of the local jail for a BOP prison after sentencing. Track them by using the federal locator.

16. ICE detainer: how it works at the jail

  • When someone is booked, the person's prints go to federal agencies. ICE may then lodge a detainer (Form I-247A).
  • A paid bond won't end the detainer.
  • Under the detainer, the Yellville jail may keep the person at most two days longer than usual. Weekend days don't extend it; the limit remains 48 hours.
  • During the hold, ICE can come to take custody. If ICE never comes, this means they are released.
  • To see where ICE took them, visit the detainee locator site and enter their A-number with their birth country. People without the A-number can type in the name as spelled on ID together with DOB and birth country.
  • The next stop is ICE's call.
  • Need to reach ICE? Its New Orleans field office sits at 181 James Drive W, St. Rose, LA 70087. Phone: 504-318-2360.

Yes. Open a name in the Marion inmate roster and Marion mugshots load with it. A released person may drop off the Marion list.

Media looking for a mugshot not shown online should call the sheriff's office at 870-449-4236. ICE photos come out only via a FOIA request to ICE, with no promise of release.
