Medical care is provided, as well as dental care and intervention services when needed. If you’re trying to find out about a warrant for your arrest in Shasta County or anywhere in California, or you need information about a court case involving someone you know, the California Superior Court is a good place to begin.

Courts in Shasta County and throughout California must honor most criminal defendants’ constitutional right to bail before trial, except in certain capital and violent felony cases. The California Supreme Court has held that a defendant’s ability to pay must be considered, and that jailing someone only because they can’t afford bail is unconstitutional unless no less restrictive alternative would protect public safety or ensure their appearance. Rule 4.101 adds that judges cannot consider a defendant’s request for a jury trial when setting bail.

The easiest way to learn an offender’s bail at the Shasta County Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility is a phone call to 530-225-5838. If you know the charge, you can also check the bail schedule for Shasta County yourself. The county takes cash, surety bonds, and property bonds.

Licensed for 90 inmates, the Shasta County Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility is often forced to hold many more, especially on weekends. Most city and county jails in California turn over at least 35-40% of their inmates monthly, with another 25-30% turning over every 90 days and another 15-20% every six months. About 8-9% stay between six and twelve months. Inmates held longer than a year are usually facing serious charges such as rape or murder, which take longer to prepare for trial, so offenders arrested in this county on those charges remain in one of the Shasta County facilities much longer.

Shasta County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 11,480 offenders each year.
