While licensed for 150 inmates, the The Campus at Mount View is often forced to make room for many more, especially on weekends. Most city and county jails in Colorado turn over at least 35-40% of their population monthly, another 25-30% every 90 days, and another 15-20% every six months. Approximately 8-9% stay incarcerated between six and twelve months. Inmates held longer than twelve months are usually facing serious charges like rape or murder, and because those cases take longer to prepare for trial, offenders arrested in this county remain in custody at one of the Denver County facilities much longer.
Denver County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain roughly 83,700 offenders each year.
