Federal court has no bail chart. Instead, a federal judge runs a detention review hearing to rule whether your relative stays locked up pending trial and which conditions fit. During the case, lots of federal defendants wait in a local jail by agreement with the Marshals Service. For their location, phone the Marshals on 719-633-2037. Step one: As part of booking, the fingerprints go to federal databases ICE has access to.
Step two: If ICE decides to act, it lodges an immigration detainer using Form I-247A.
Step three: The form seeks up to 48 more hours once the planned release passes. The clock runs nonstop, with weekends and holidays counted.
Step four: Colorado's law, C.R.S. 24-76.6-102, says jails may not keep a person longer just because ICE sent a detainer. So Pueblo County frees the arrested person on schedule unless a warrant or court order says otherwise.
Step five: ICE agents may arrive when the arrested person is let out to pick the person up. Otherwise, the defendant goes free.
Families can search in ICE custody, use the online locator. It needs an A-number and birth country, or name, birth country and date of birth.
