Escambia County Correctional Facility Inmate Search
Under the Florida Constitution, most people charged with a crime in Escambia County and across the state are entitled to pretrial release on reasonable conditions. The exceptions are capital and life felonies when the proof is evident or the presumption is great, and cases where no conditions would protect the community. Many misdemeanor and traffic arrests end with a notice to appear instead of bail. For everything else, the Florida Supreme Court sets a uniform statewide bond schedule listing a minimum bond amount for each type of offense.

You can also look up the charge on the Florida uniform statewide bond schedule for 2026, which sets the minimum bond. Keep in mind that the local judicial circuit may require more, and the judge at first appearance can raise or lower the amount. Bail can be posted in cash, through a surety bond, or with a property bond, and some people are released on their own recognizance.
Though licensed for 1600 inmates, the Escambia County Correctional Facility often has to house many more offenders, especially on weekends. Most city and county jails in Florida have a monthly turnover of at least 35-40%, with another 25-30% turning over every 90 days, another 15-20% every six months, and about 8-9% staying six to twelve months. Inmates who stay longer than twelve months are usually facing serious charges such as rape or murder. Because those cases take time to prepare for trial, offenders arrested in this county are held in one of the Escambia County facilities much longer.

The facility is supervised by over 100 staff members and the monthly average of total bookings is over 300. It houses about 1632 male inmates and is a medium-security Adult facility. The Escambia County Jail is located at 3080 N Pace Blvd. in Pensacola, Florida. The contact number for the Main Jail is 850-436-9830. The Escambia County Corrections Video Visitation Center operates seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Inmates are allowed two visits of 40 minutes each at the facility, and potentially no limit on the number of visits when using the video visitation system. The old Escambia County Jail in Florida had been described as "uninhabitable" by a commissioner due to issues such as leaks, mold, and cell doors that don't work. Inmates have been moved into the new Escambia County Correctional Facility, which also has its own problems such as one of the three elevators not working for weeks, but there are improvements over the former jail for sure. Escambia County Jail in Florida is unique due to its high incarceration rate, its dedication to public service and the care, custody and control of inmates, and its plans to move inmates to a new facility due to the conditions at the old jail not meeting standards.
In the Escambia County Correctional Facility each housing unit has a day area, recreational yard, triage room and multi-purpose room. The multi-purpose room can be utilized for classes and religious services for the inmates.. Inmates can receive medical treatment at housing units and will not need to get escorted to an infirmary out-patient clinic to receive medical services, saving time, officers needed and jeopardizing the safety of staff and other medical providers. The new facility is designed with separate wings to house and provide services for juveniles, keeping juveniles out of normal sight and sound of adult inmates.
The new facility even has a gym for staff and a courtroom for inmate's initial hearing.
People arrested in Escambia County, including Pensacola, are usually taken to the Escambia County Correctional Facility at 3080 N. Pace Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32505. Escambia County does things a little differently from most Florida counties. The jail is not run by the Sheriff’s Office. On October 1, 2013, the Board of County Commissioners moved jail operations to the county’s own Department of Corrections. The building opened in spring 2021. It has 840 beds spread across housing units. Each housing unit has its own recreation yard and medical triage room. The facility also has a courtroom, and separate wings keep juveniles out of sight and sound of adult inmates. Across all of its facilities, the department is responsible for more than 1,300 people and handles more than 15,000 bookings and releases a year. Most of the people held here are awaiting trial. Others are serving county sentences of up to a year. Anyone sentenced to more than a year goes to the Florida Department of Corrections. Part of the population has also been housed in the county’s older Main Jail on “L” Street, which was built in 1981 and which the county has been working to replace. If you aren’t sure which building your person is in, ask when you call.
To find someone, use the county’s Jail View inmate lookup. Results show charges and any bond amount. Escambia is part of Florida’s First Judicial Circuit. Under Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.130, everyone who is arrested sees a judge for first appearance within 24 hours. At that hearing the judge reviews the charges and sets bond or release conditions. The Florida Constitution (Art. I, §14) gives most defendants a right to pretrial release on reasonable conditions. The exceptions are capital or life felonies when the proof is evident or the presumption great, and cases where no conditions can protect the community. Before first appearance, jails use the Florida Supreme Court’s 2026 uniform bond schedule (AOSC25-69). It sets statewide minimum amounts, and the First Circuit’s chief judge can set higher local amounts. Some serious charges require a judge to see the person before any release, and the first appearance judge isn’t bound by the schedule. For many minor misdemeanors, the officer issues a notice to appear and the person is not jailed at all.
Bonds are paid, and property is picked up, in the facility’s public access area. The county also takes bond payments online through Access Corrections. If you use a bail bond agent instead, Florida law requires the agent to charge the premium rate on file with state regulators (§648.33). On state charges that rate is 10% of the bond, with a $100 minimum, and you won’t get it back.
All visits are by video through GettingOut. You can visit from home, or on-site at the Video Visitation Center inside the 3080 N. Pace Blvd. building. Main jail visiting blocks run 8–11 a.m., 12:30–3:30 p.m. and 7:45–8:45 p.m. Schedule online or call (855) 516-0115. For visiting questions, call the center at (850) 436-9961. Personal mail doesn’t go to the jail. Send it to P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131, where it is processed and delivered electronically. Legal mail goes to P.O. Box 17800, Pensacola, FL 32522. To add money, you can deposit online through Access Corrections or use the 24-hour kiosk in the main jail lobby. You can also mail a U.S. Postal money order made out to “ITF” plus the inmate’s first and last name to Inmate Accounts, P.O. Box 17800, Pensacola, FL 32522.
To check for warrants, start with FDLE’s statewide wanted persons search. Not every active warrant appears there, so also contact the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit. By bus, Escambia County Area Transit’s Route 55 (Pace Blvd | Warrington) runs along Pace Boulevard. Check the nearest stop and times on ECAT’s routes page or at (850) 595-3228. If you’re waiting on a release, there’s a Circle K at 3109 N. Pace Blvd. and a Cefco at 2100 W. Fairfield Dr. Popeyes is at 3411 N. Pace Blvd., and Wendy’s is at 1706 W. Fairfield Dr.

What is the booking process for the Escambia County Correctional Facility?

4. Give your photo a Title or add it to the "Gallery" of your choice.
5. Select the "Share" button.
6. Select your inmate(s) and then select "Share".
7. Once the photo is approved, it will be shared with your inmate(s).
