Offenders will remain in this facility as they wait for bail or their trial, and as they serve a sentence with the possibility of the work release program being accessed. The work release program has a capacity of up to 40 inmates, while the facility as a whole has 132 beds broken down into 6 blocks for the men and one for the women, the work release which is for 32 men and 8 women, and each of the cell blocks has a common area where they are able to eat, socialize, access phones, and have recreational time.
Due to the short length of stay of most of the inmates, the majority of whom are there for under a year and many released on bail in just a few days, there are limited programs and recreation however there is still access to socializing, phones, mail, visits, medical and mental health care, laundry, healthy meals, opportunities to learn life skills and time to go outside.
Mail is sent to the inmates with their name and ID number, a full return address including the name of the sender, and they will each be checked for contraband before they are provided to the inmate they are addressed too. All mail must be through the US Postal Service and will not be accepted dropped off at the jail at:

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:
Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.
Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
White County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.
Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the White County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the payee the jail names (check with the jail first) and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order. Never mail cash or a personal check.
