About the Fayette County Correctional Center

With a capacity of 44 inmates at any time, the Fayette County Correctional Center houses offenders not only from Fayette County but also those from the US Marshalls as well as overflow from other local county jails. Both male and female inmates facing misdemeanor or felony charges will be housed here as they await bail or trial, or until they are transferred to another jail. As a small jail, it does not function as a full detention service for sentences that are longer than a few months.

Several duties are performed in the Fayette County Correctional Center, including booking and assessment to determine housing, medical care, and mental health care, court security and transportation, ensuring all medical and mental health needs are met, provide 3 healthy meals each day to each inmate, provide prescriptions as required, laundry services, cleaning the jail, provide supervised visitation and exercise, check mail for contraband and deliver to the correct inmates, and provide access to phones and other programs that support reintegration to their community.

Telephones are available during dayroom hours for outgoing calls only, either collect to the receive or through a prepaid system which can be funded through the kiosk in the jail lobby.
