Search for an Inmate or Active Arrest Warrant in Finney County

Finney County Jail

Day or night, you can get inmate information from the 220-bed Finney County Jail by calling 620-272-3756.

Misdemeanor and felony arrests made in this county are brought to this facility, where the arrestee goes through booking and processing. When the charges require it, the person is held until they are released on bond, released on their own recognizance, or ordered to stay in custody until their trial is resolved.

The inmate search tool lets you browse the roster of people who have been arrested and remain in custody.

If found guilty, inmates with sentences of less than one year serve their time here. Those with longer sentences serve their time in the Kansas State Prison System or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

This page explains how to use the jail roster, how to reach the facility, and how inmate services work, including visitation hours and policies, inmate accounts, mail, inmate calls, voicemail, email and text, tablet rentals, bail, and commissary.

You’ll often be asked for the inmate’s booking number or jail ID, so save it once you find it. If you can’t locate it online, call Finney County Jail at 620-272-3756.

About the Finney County Jail

Within the Law Enforcement Center in Finney County both the sheriff’s office and the Finney County Jail are operational. It is here that all of the newly arrested offenders and those who are sentenced will remain on both misdemeanor and felony charges, with the majority being in the jail less than one year.

After being originally constructed in 1982, the brick building was expanded in the year 2000 to two sides of the building and now contains 220 beds in a mix of linear and direct supervision housing. It also contains a kitchen and full kitchen staff to meet the nutritional needs of inmates, a fulltime nurse and access to further medical care, dental care, and mental health care, recreation activities, laundry, and other services.

A trust account is created for each inmate that permits them to make orders and access other items that they need or want, and this can be funded by their friends and family outside of the jail, either online or at the kiosk in the lobby.

Visits may be 20 minutes in length, and they can be scheduled directly by the inmate with their visitor. Access visits either at the kiosk in the lobby or from home. Visiting hours are the same every day and run 8am to 10:30pm with the last visit starting at 10pm.

How is booking conducted at Finney County Jail?

After an arrest, individuals are transported to Finney County Jail for the booking process. This procedure ensures the person’s identity, assesses charges, and determines if they will be released, eligible for bail, or detained until court.

  • Verifying identification information.
  • Capturing mugshots for record-keeping.
  • Health assessments and questions about criminal history.
  • Possible DNA collection.

  • Securing personal belongings.
  • Granting a free phone call.
