About the Reno County Corrections Facility

With a capacity for 250 inmates, the Reno County Corrections Facility found in Reno County houses all local offenders, male and female, facing misdemeanors or felony charges.

Among the staff are security officers, two nurses for all medical needs, kitchen crew that will provide healthy meals for all inmates three times each day, a mental health counselor, a reentry organizer, and others who operate the programs within the building.

Questions or concerns about an inmate, bail, visitation, and others can be directed to 620-694-2741 or the online lookup.

Of the 250 beds, 50 are for work release which allows inmates to leave the facility during the day to complete work tasks and return at the end of their shifts to continue their sentence. Twelve pods make up the remainder of the units, with all inmates throughout all of the units being able to participate in the activities and programs that run six days each week, and include the library, GED, NA, AA, peer support groups, fatherhood initiative, anger management, seeking safety, and others.

Reentry planning and services are provided to each inmate as they near the end of their sentence and as they reentry their community.

Inmates are able to make purchases from the commissary or for other purposes with funds that are added to their account either online or through the kiosk in the lobby, and this money may also be used for access to make outgoing phone calls and to plan visits.

Visits can be scheduled in person or online, and visiting hours are every day 8:00am-11:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm, and 6:30pm-9:00pm.

Set up Flash, then restart your computer and then go to Google Chrome on your desktop or laptop computer and log on to Inmate Canteen.
    Steps Inmate canteen Visitation:
    1. Go to www.inmatecanteen.com on a computer (not supported on mobile devices i.e. tablets, cell phones, etc)
    2. Log in, select your inmate, and select the Video Visit an Inmate option.
    3. You will be required to fill out a form, submit a driver's license picture and a picture of your face. Once submitted, Reno County Corrections Facility will either approve or deny it.
    4. Once approved you will be all set to video visit!
    NOTES: Make sure you are allowing flash player to run in google chrome by selecting the lock icon to left of the browser. Flash Player needs to be set to “allow”. Then you can refresh the page and it should be good to go. If flash player is being blocked you will not be able to take a picture or see any video during the visitation.
