About the Iberia Parish Jail

With a capacity of 512 inmates, the Iberia Parish Jail provides a safe and secure environment for the housing of all detainees throughout Iberia Parish. State, county, and federal detainees are all held at this location until they are able to make bail, until they have finished their trial and been released, have transferred to another facility, or have completed their sentence.

Iberia Parish Jail runs an inmate work program which uses the detainees to complete work tasks throughout the parish, both inside and outside of the facility. This program not only provide them with an outlet each day and tasks to focus their energy on, but also provides services to the community they live in to keep roads clean, do landscaping or yard upkeep on the public property, and to maintain the jail and other county owned property. Each of these jobs will provide the detainee with the skills they need to obtain outside employment as well, and helps to build their experience for future employment opportunities.

Within the jail tasks may include food services, maintenance, janitorial, laundry, and others.

Medical care is also provided and all residents will receive counseling and other mental health support as needed, support groups help to address substance use, and religious programs are accessible.

It is also key to the successful rehabilitation of inmates that they be able to contact their loved ones outside of the jail, which is provided through mail or messages, phone calls, and video visits.

Due to the schedules of the working inmates, visits are scheduled online or via the inmate themselves to work around their job hours, and they are funded and scheduled online.

Phones are in each of the common areas and are available after breakfast until lockdown at night and can be funded online.

Mail can be sent to the location, or messages sent, with all mail going to:

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Iberia Parish Jail?

There are two options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Choice 1 - Deposit Inmate Money Online

Iberia Parish Jail uses CommissaryDeposit.com to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Choice 2 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail

Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union.

Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.

**Call 337-369-2431 first to ask Iberia Parish Jail if this option is still available.

How to Deposit Money into an Inmate's Account in Iberia Parish Jail

To deposit money into the account of an inmate in Iberia Parish, follow these instructions:

  • Select Louisiana.
  • Select Iberia Parish Jail
  • Enter the Inmate ID of your inmate.  This can be found by calling 337-369-2431 or by looking up the inmate's name in the Inmate Search link.
  • Enter your billing information and send money.
  • You can also deposit cash using the kiosk at the Iberia Parish Jail.  To do this you need the Inmate's ID Number and the Facility Locator Number for Iberia Parish.
